FAQ
Who are you?
Schtolteheim Reinbach IV.
No, really.
Alorian is probably wearing black.
Eider is a kind of duck.
We're both thirtysomethings who enjoy (among other things) writing fanfiction & playing videogames.
Who's the kid on the front page? What's he so happy about?
Play Suikoden; his name is Qlon and he actually stands outside your castle and says that whenever you talk to him. Some recruitable characters cook, wash, forge weapons, paint murals, and run shops. Qlon just enthuses about your HQ.
...Odessa Castle?
What, you mean you named your Suikoden castle something else?
Seriously, though, we wanted a name to reflect that we're a little bit old school, and a whole lot in love with playing videogames with great characters and crunchy plots.
We probably ought to admit to having a hangup, though, insofar as we named the ship in Suikoden IV after Odessa, too. Even though that was years before she was even born. (Causing a temporal rift, if you think too hard about the possibility that the Silverberg family named her after the famous sailing Odessa of history.)
But it's true: whenever we're happy, wishing ourselves nowhere else but where we are, we'll look at one another and say, "This is Odessa Castle. I feel so good." Your next question needn't be "how dorky are you people??" because the answer ought to be obvious. (WAY dorky.)
Does that mean your site is just for fic based on Suikoden games?
Not at all. We've got a favorites list a mile long, but it's worth mentioning that we adore Xenogears, Vagrant Story, Kingdom Hearts, Castlevania, and the whole damn Final Fantasy series. Dante from Devil May Cry has a special place in our
pantshearts.
Just videogames then?
We're anime nerds, too, and book-readers and movie-watchers. It's just that we tend, most often, to write fic for videogames. Something about absorbing a story with controller-in-hand, watching a world unfold one dungeon at a time... It gets us right here.
So what's with the dots?
All of our fanfiction is intended for a mature audience, as our stories tend to contain profanity and varying flavors of sexuality. However, some of our stories are definitely racier than others. The dot system is just a quick and easy way to denote which stories are the juicy ones. (So you know which ones to click first.)
